WHY DO YOU DO CROSSFIT?
Simply put, I do it because it makes me happy. I've always enjoyed working out but I had lost sight of what I was pursuing. CrossFit gives me a sense of purpose every day and is an excellent way to push myself in the gym and in life.
HOW HAS CROSSFIT AFFECTED YOU?
It's given me confidence I never knew I had. I find myself wanting to take on challenges every day, whether or not it's a good idea (sometimes adding weight in a WOD kills me a little bit). It has also had a huge mental and emotional effect on me. As long as I can remember, I've struggled with anxiety and depression, telling myself that I can't or shouldn't do something that I want to do. CrossFit has helped me to flip that switch, telling myself instead that I can push through whatever is front of me, whether it's a workout or an obstacle outside the gym.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO KEEP COMING BACK?
Besides the awesome workouts, the community is amazing. What Kingfield has created is something unique and when I'm at the gym it's truly a sense which I've never felt before. I truly believe the coaches care about my development as a person as well as an athlete, and the members are like family to me (a really silly family you can't help but love anyway).
DO YOU HAVE A MOTTO? SOMETHING YOU TELL YOURSELF WHEN YOU'RE FIGHTING THROUGH A WORKOUT? IF SO, DO YOU MIND SHARING IT?
I try to tell myself that there's no reason I can't pick up the weight and continue to move.
