What was your first open workout that you completed? 

My first open workout was with Danny back in the ol' Calhoun Beach Club days.  We did 12.1 which is 7 minute AMRAP of burpees to a 6" target.

How did it go and where did you complete it? 

It sucked lol.  That was a lungs and calves workout...both were burning and since we were at the CBC we had a lot of onlookers wondering what the heck we were doing.

Why do you participate in the Open?

It's a really fun community event, and a great way to test your progress. You know there will be a repeat workout, who knows maybe 7 minutes of burpees ;)

What has been your favorite Open workout?

Hard to say, but I did really enjoy 16.3 last year. An AMRAP of 7 minutes 10 power snatches and 3 bar muscle-ups

What has been your least favorite Open workout?

Well, again, that is hard to say...usually it's the workout where you have to finish to be done lol (for time). Like the thruster and bar-facing burpee workout. I think it was 14.5 (and 16.5)

What movement do you expect to see this year?

Burpee box jump overs, for sure ring muscle ups, thrusters...all the tough ones

What movement do you hope to see this year?

1RM OHS...it would be fun...or anything non cardio haha! Training has been a little slack lately ;)

For those people wondering if they should compete in the Open, what would you say to them?

DO IT! The Open is a blast. We have a great time Friday nights, you can take it seriously or just have fun with it. Also, the workouts are scaleable, everyone can participate.  And if you're not sure, come anyways to watch and cheer...you might change your mind by the end!
