Kingfield Barbell: Jake Hackl Takes Silver in New Zealand

This past weekend, Kingfield Barbell athlete Jake Hackl competed in his first Worlds Master Games, held in New Zealand.  Not only was this Jake’s first international competition, but he received a Silver Medal in the process (oh! He also turned 40 years young that same weekend). Pretty cool birthday present if you ask me. Big thanks to Robert Kruse for helping Jake count his attempts and coach him through the process, we hope we can repay you in the future.

Here are the results of what Jake hit to secure silver:
Jake Hackl:
Snatch- 107kg, 111kg, 114kgX
CNJ- 132kg, 141kg, 150kgX (clean was good but missed the jerk)

We are very proud of Jake and his accomplishments and are excited to see what is in store next for Jake.  It just goes to show that age is just a number when it comes to weightlifting!

In other exciting news, Andrea Strolie is getting ready for the USAW National Championships next weekend in Chicago.  Andrea holds the Minnesota state record in Snatch, CNJ, and Total in the 53kg weight class.  She will be competing on Friday May 12, her session time is still being determined. Stay tuned, via our Kingfield Barbell FaceBook and Instagram pages to find out!
